Room 22 is a class of Year 4 ākonga (students) who strive to demonstrate our school values every day. Our rangitaki (blog) is just one way in which we can celebrate and share our learning journey with others. Please offer feedback in the form of comments, as this is what helps us all as learners to improve.

Hauora hou tau hou- Happy Maori New Year
To celebrate Matariki Ruma Rima and Ruma rua tekau ma rima got together as buddy class to have breakfast. We opened our celebration with a discussion around what we knew about Matariki. Next Nicholas blessed our kai with a karakia mō te kai. We ate toast and had a delicious cup of Milo. Then as Tuakana, we (Room 25 students) shared our mahi about space with our teina (Room 5 students).
A big KIA ORA to Ms Mitchell and Mr Green for sharing this special moment with us.

Matariki inspired art and Marvelous maths!
Luke was the recipient of one of our Caught Being Good Awards today because of his focus on his artwork. Luke chose to do a piece of artwork that required him to use pastel and a Chromebook to complete it. Check out his finished product on his blog.

Kauri Team Assembly- Certificates galore!!!
On Monday we had our our Kauri Team Cross Country. It was a great to see all of our students giving it a go. For our competitive runners, the morning fitness sessions proved to be great training opportunities.
We had two students receiving certificates. Nuradiin came 1st place in the Year 6 boys division and Riley came in 5th place in the Year 6 girls division. Miharo!!!
We had 3 students receive a Duffy Caught Being Good certificate as well. We are very lucky to have a new addition to our Ruma, Ayman is a Year 5 student. A big KIA ORA goes to Amani and Zera, for showing Manaakitanga to our new student. Ayman has settled in so well in to her new whanau and we look forward to getting to know her better.

Green Week- Kaitiakitanga Award
Congratulations to Fedor from our Ruma for earning himself a Kaitiakitanga certificate. Fedor always goes above and beyond when caring for our classroom environment. Ruma rua tekau ma rima is full of kaitiaki's so I am going to have a tough choice next time.
