Ka pai tō mahi toi! Ōwairaka School Art Exhibition!

To celebrate our term focus on Super Hero artists, our kura is having an Art Exhibition. It opened on Rāapa and will close at 11:30 am today.

This term we learned about New Zealand artists and based our mahi toi on their style. The artist that we focused on was Ayesha Green.

Ngā mihi nui to Virginia for being the kaiako in charge of creating our mahi toi.

Here is our mahi toi.

Hui-a-kura-Whole school Assembly

Yesterday, we were finally able to gather as a whole school for an assembly. It was wonderful to come together and celebrate by giving out some certificates and making a prize draw from our Values draws.

Whakamihi to all of the ngā ākonga who received a certificate or chose a prize. From our ruma, whakamihi to Shuaib and Brooklyn, for receiving our Merit certificates.

Well done Frankie, Hosanna, Clemence and Israel for being chosen out of our Values boxes.

Always remember and strive to live by our 3 school values; Manaakitanga, Manawanuitanga and Kaitiakitanga.

Ko tēnei te wiki o te reo Māori!

This wiki our akomanga hosted our Pūriri tīma hui. It was a fantastic way to celebrate and encourage the use of te Reo Māori across our kura (school), whānau (family, extended whānau etc) and hapori whānui (wider whānau, community).

Here are some phrases that you can use everyday. Click on the audio button to hear an ākonga pronounce it.
