Watch out world Miss Mills has 25 body guards!!!

This weeks Taekwondo session including punching and blocking as well as celebrating being a LOSER. That's right, I said it "We are LOSERS and proud of it". Our instructor shared with us his personal experiences of winning and losing when competing in Taekwondo competitions. We totally took on board his message that, while we will win sometimes, most times we will lose and that's ok.

One thing I know for sure is that when it comes to giving everything 100%, Room 18 students and Miss Mills are WINNERS!

Luca received our class Merit Certificate this week because he was showing Manaakitanga during our learning focus on Endangered Animals. Thanks Luca for sharing your understanding about how to create a Google Map.

Congratulations to Ruma tekau ma waru!!!

Yesterday Room 18 was very privileged to co-host our school assembly with our wonderful buddy class Room 5. Thank you to all of the Room 5 students and their teacher, for your hard work and great performance. Well done to all of the presenters and to Apii and Chloe for performing a Maths Week Rap.

I would also like to acknowledge to AMAZING learners in our class.
Abdula received a certificate to acknowledge his Manaakitanga for learning. Abdula has really focused on improving his Manaakitanga in class, he is a good role model for his peers.

Phoenix won a prize for her correct entry in to the MATHS WEEK: Daily Challenge competition.

 Here's the Challenge question;

If the cross country is 3 and a half kilometers long it takes you 5 minutes to run 1 kilometer, how long will the whole run take?

Sammy from our class all so won on Friday.

It was a complete DRAMA!!!

On Monday Rooms 18 and 24 participated in a very quick drama session. It was extremely fun and funny. Students learnt how we communicate; talking, body language and movements etc and put it all together. Some students and yes the teacher, were naturals! Oscar winning performances were given for the "Sorry I sat on your lunch" scene. A very big THANK YOU to Rachel for sharing her time and specialist expertise in drama with us. Every other class in the Kauri team will also get to experience this lesson also.
