This term Pūriri Whā are having Garden To Table sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity for the tamariki to learn about the māra (garden) and skills in the kīhini (kitchen). Here is a video of the huarākau rōpu learning how to control a huripara (wheelbarrow).
It definitely isn't easy to control a huripara, especially when you have to go up or over a bump. Virginia put a bucket of water in to each huripara so that the tamariki could see how much water was left after everyone had a turn going through the obstacle course.
I will post some ngā pikitia (photos) of the mahi in the kīhini next week.
Kia ora Ruma rua tekau ma rua, thank you for posting this video. You have to be focused and careful when you are using a huripara, especially around school where there are lots of tamariki. Enjoy you next Garden to Table session!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great obstacle course! If you designed one for your class huripara race what would you use? Maria
