Today we visited the Auckland Art Gallery- Toi o Tāmaki. It is truly a beautiful place to visit and learn about mahi toi (art work). We began our day learning about sculptures. Our sculptures were inspired by the amazing artist Yona Lee.
It was really hard not to touch the majority of the art work, but Yona Lee's installation allowed us to interact with her art and physically explore it.
We had a really great day and did so many fun activities. Ngā mihi nui to all of the whānau, staff and kaiako who helped us today.
Kia ora Room 22, what amazing photos of your trip to the Art Gallery. I really like seeing the photos of you working on your individual art piece and I am looking forward to seeing your art at our school Art Exhibition later in the term. Deb
ReplyDeleteKia orana Room 22, thank you for sharing photos of your Art Gallery trip with us. Do you have any 'top tips' for others if they want to make a sculpture at home?
