Here is your last Papa kōwhiri ngohe for 2021. We have done a few of these this year and I have had a lot of fun co-creating them. Having a choice about what activity you do is always great, so please enjoy these activities during the last 3 days of the term.

Vertical marble run- Can you build it?

 This wiki's challenge is to build a vertical marble run. As always, there are some building criteria for you to follow.

Anamata Hiko- Electric future

 Today for Pūtaiao (Science) we considered the BIG IDEA: What is electricity and where does it come from?

                                                            Where does energy come from?

We learnt that there are two main types of energy: Kinetic- energy in motion and Potential- stored energy.

Did you know that......... energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot disappear!

The Energy cards activity was all about identifying different sources of energy such as; Hydro, Solar, Fossil just to name a few.

    

Solar powered car

For this experiment we used small cars that had a solar panel on the top. Unfortunately for us, it was very overcast day today. We did experience some success and understand that solar power is a renewable source of energy.
