Caught Being Good- Congratulations to........

Everyone in Ruma rua tekau ma rua has settled back into school life and showing Manaakitanga for themselves and others.

This week two students stood out because of the way in which they show Manaakitanga for their learning. Congratulations to Jessianne and Wini for sharing your understanding with myself and your peers. Ka pai Kaynin! For being picked out of the values voucher draw.

Super problem solving korero with Miss Mills.
Fantastic presentation about Life in Samoa

Kaynin received a Manaakitanga ticket and was picked during our values vouchers draw.

First week back at school- Level 2

As a teacher there's nothing better than seeing and hearing amazing tamariki participate in learning. This week, we have been focusing on being kind during our time in level 2. Remembering to keep our distance, sneezing/coughing into our elbows and being very hygienic (washing our hands/sanitizing) are ways in which we can show kindness and Manaakitanga for each other. Here is just one of the fantastic videos about what to do to beat Covid19.

To conclude our week, we developed a PMI chart about life at school during level 2.

Getting ready for coming back to school.

Dear families,

We are ready to welcome all students to their respective classrooms from Monday 18 May.

In order to help maintain social distancing requirements, if possible, we request that you consider providing the following items:
  • A pencil case or a plastic bag which can be used to store stationery.
  • Year 4 will need to bring their pencil cases if they took them home during Lockdown.
  • A named drink bottle (drinking fountains will remain closed for now)
  • Shoes that will be easy to put on and off

Please note that students will not be bringing readers home for the first 2 weeks. They will still be using readers in class. We have shared some useful reading websites on our blogs and Duffy books will be sent home for those who haven’t already received them.

Kind Regards,

Puriri Teachers

Collage art

It's time to be super creative and create a masterpiece. Practise being a kaitiaki by choosing to use recyclable materials, using those items again to make a piece of art. You could also make a card for Saturday (Mother's Day) and surprise your wonderful mum, nana, sister or aunty etc.

The possibilities as always are only limited by your imagination........ remember you are fantastically creative!!!

Don't forget to share your art with me and then I can share it with the world!!!
