Whakamihi- Congratulations!

Well done to both Milo and Maddy from our ruma this week. They have both been great role models of focusing on their mahi and sharing great thoughts during our reading group discussions.

Garden To Table- in the māra.

This term Pūriri Whā are having Garden To Table sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity for the tamariki to learn about the māra (garden) and skills in the kīhini (kitchen). Here is a video of the huarākau rōpu learning how to control a huripara (wheelbarrow).

It definitely isn't easy to control a huripara, especially when you have to go up or over a bump. Virginia put a bucket of water in to each huripara so that the tamariki could see how much water was left after everyone had a turn going through the obstacle course.

I will post some ngā pikitia (photos) of the mahi in the kīhini next week.

Our visit to Auckland Art Gallery- Toi o Tāmaki.

Today we visited the Auckland Art Gallery- Toi o Tāmaki. It is truly a beautiful place to visit and learn about mahi toi (art work). We began our day learning about sculptures. Our sculptures were inspired by the amazing artist Yona Lee.

It was really hard not to touch the majority of the art work, but Yona Lee's installation allowed us to interact with her art and physically explore it.

We had a really great day and did so many fun activities. Ngā mihi nui to all of the whānau, staff and kaiako who helped us today.
